This installation guide describes the steps necessary to install and configure ChartNet Transcription on a PC to be used by a home transcriptionist.

 

 

Before installing ChartNet Home Transcription, you will need the following:

 

1.Internet access
2.Your employer's serial number (16 characters).
3.Your Usercode, Password, and Transcriptionist Code that was assigned to you by your supervisor.
4.The IP Address of your employer's FTP server.
5.Call your supervisor and check to make sure they exported your "startup files".

 

 

Download and run the ChartNet Web Installer

 

1.The ChartNet Web Installer can be obtained from www.hudson-medical.com by clicking on Support Center, then clicking on the version of the Web Installer that matches what your employer is running.
2.When prompted to Open or Save the file, select Open (or Run)
3.After the program is downloaded, the following screen will displayIG01_Web Installer Main

 

 

 

 

Click on New

1.Installation Type - Select ChartNet Home Transcription.
2.Serial Number - Enter your 16 character serial number.  If you do not know your serial number, please contact your employer.
3.Transcriptionist Code - Enter your 2 or 3 digit transcriptionist code.
4.Click on OK
5.The application will start to download the required files.  This may take from 10 to 45 minutes, depending on the speed of your Internet connection.  If you get a message "Could not download license file", call your employer and ask them to contact Hudson Medical Systems.  Your license file needs to be created before you can proceed.
6.Once all files are downloaded, the final setup program will prompt you for additional information as described  below.

 

 

Enter your User Information

1.Enter your Usercode, Password, and Transcriptionist Code exactly as given to you by your supervisor.  If you fail to enter these values correctly, you may not be able to successfully log into ChartNet, or may not be able to download your startup files.  If this happens, you will need to run the MTSETUP program (located in the \chartnet\bin folder), and select  the option "Add user to Users file".
2.Click on OK

       

 

Enter your Connection Information

1.        Select what type of Internet Connection you have.

2.        If not already entered, enter the FTP address of the host FTP server.

3.        Click on OK

 

 

You will be asked whether or not you Review reports.

 

 

A new Folder will be created

 

A new folder will be created an placed on your desktop with the name "ChartNet (Employer name)".   In this folder you will find the icons for the programs that were installed.

 

 

Start ChartNet Transcription and Login.

 

 

Connect to receive your Startup Files

 

Click on the Connect button (F1) to download your startup files.  The Communications Server program will start and attempt to connect to the host server.  If you receive any errors messages during this step, check to see if your Internet connection is active and make sure you entered the proper IP address to the FTP server.  To edit the FTP IP address, click on Users menu, then Settings, then Home Communication Configuration, then the FTP tab.

 

ChartNet will attempt to connect to the host FTP site and start downloading and importing the initial system and site files.  This may take anywhere from 5 minutes to over an hour, depending on the size of the MPI files being received.  Do not interrupt this process !!  If you do not receive your startup files (e.g. no sites show up on the blue screen), then contact your System Manager and have them do an export of your startup files then repeat this step.

 

 

After receiving and importing the startup files, you are ready to start typing reports!
