ChartNet allows the import of transcribed reports that are generated outside of ChartNet using the MTIMP program.  A mandatory "header" must be included at the beginning of each report that contains demographic fields used to identify the patient.  Following the mandatory header is the body of the report.  No other document headers or footers are allowed.  Each report must have it's own file (i.e. one file is not allowed to contain more than one report).  Please refer to the section "Report Header Format" for a description of the header section.

The following types of word processing files can be imported:

       Microsoft Word (all versions)

       WordPerfect DOS 5.1

       WordPerfect for Windows

       Rich Text Format (RTF)

       ASCII Text

       ChartNet export format

The program can import files coming from different sources (i.e. outside transcription vendors).  Since each source can have different requirements, the program lets you set up a unique "profile" for each input source.  Import profiles are defined in the MTIMP.INI file located in the \Chartnet\System folder.  When the program is run, the user must specify the profile to use.  Please refer to the section "Using the MTIMP program".
