ChartNet's medical spell-check dictionary has features to allow each user to customize it's behavior. To access these settings click on the 'Spell Check Configuration' under the 'Users' menu while in the word processor or click CTRL+F3.

Spell Check Settings
1. Check spelling as you type ("live spell check") Checking this box will enable the spell checker to show the user any possible spelling errors while typing in the word processor. (i.e., users will see red underlines when spelling errors are suspected)
Note: When using with ExpandType, users may NOT use dashes ("-") or slashes ("/") as these are reserved characters. See the "ExpandType Maintenance" topic for more information.
2. Correct spelling errors as you type Checking this box will enable the word processor to correct words as you type. The correct words must exist in the Auto-Correct Pairs list of words for replacements to occur. See the "Auto-Correct Pairs" section below for more detail.
3. Ignore words in UPPER case If Live Spell Check is active, checking this box will ignore any words that are entirely in UPPER case.
4. Ignore words containing numbers If Live Spell Check is active, checking this box will ignore any words that contain numbers in them.
5. Suggest from main dictionary only (not custom dictionary) Checking this box will suggest words using only the main dictionary provided with ChartNet. This will typically decrease the number of words that are available to suggest.
6. Prompt on repeated words Checking this box will include repeated words when spell checking the document or highlighted text. If this box is unchecked repeated words will not be suggestively replaced in spell check.
7. Automatically correct Dual capitals Checking this box will automatically correct any words that contain adjacent capital letters. The correct spelling of the word must exist in your dictionary before this feature will activate (See "Added Words" section below for help on adding to your dictionary).
8. Clicking on the Edit Custom Dictionary will show the form (Figure 15-2 thru Figure 15-4) to customize your own dictionary.

2. Auto-Correct Pairs Any words found on the left side of the list will be replaced with the word found on the right side of the list. For example "teh" will be replaced with "the". Replacements are case sensitive (i.e., "Teh" will NOT be replaced by "the").

3. Excluded Words (Figure 15-4) Any words found in this list will always be considered as incorrectly spelled words during a spell check operation. To add words, type the word in the "Exclude this word:" box and click the "Add" button.
