After installing the ChartNet Voice Client, you will need to configure it for your particular requirements. Configuration consists of defining the host servers, specifying your foot pedal, and setting up an interface to your transcription system software.
Before proceeding, you will need to know the following:
Double click on the "speaker" icon to start the application. The following screen should come up.
Click on the Options menu
The Options screen will be displayed
Sample Hosts Screen
Click on the Add button and enter a name for the host server, for example, the name or initials of your employer.
URL - Enter the URL of the server to connect to. Usually this will be an IP address, for example 192.168.1.0.
Server Type - Select the type of server (ChartNet or ChartVox). Your employer will tell you which one it is.
Usually, the URL and Server Type are all that is required, so you can click on the Request tab to continue the configuration.
Dictation ID - The ID number assigned to you in the dictation system. Entering a value here will cause the ID number to automatically appear in the Login screen.
Transcription ID - Your ID number assigned to you in the transcription system. This is only required if your transcription ID code and your dictation system ID code are different and you are using the automatic dictation interface feature between the Voice Client and ChartNet.
Auto-Dictation Interface Site List - A list of site codes (separated by commas) that are set up for automatically populating the ChartNet Report Data screen when a new job is started. Only voice jobs that have a ChartNet Site Code and Report Type defined are eligible for the automatic dictation interface. All other jobs can be interfaced to ChartNet via the "Get Dictation" button on the Report Data screen. Sites defined in the list will have the TRANS.HED file created in the user's folder in ChartNet (e.g. %root%\users\[scribe]), instead of the location specified in the Export screen.
Verify login Users file for site - Specify which list of users ChartNet should use to verify usernames and passwords. If this field is left blank, the default is the system Users file.
When finished with the Hosts screen, click on the Player tab.
Foot pedal backup seconds - Enter then number of seconds that you want to backup in the voice file when the foot pedal is released.
Foot pedal rewind / fast forward skip seconds - Enter the number of seconds to use for rewinding or fast-forwarding when the corresponding pedal on the foot pedal is pressed.
Always display Voice Player on top of other windows - Check this if you always want the Voice Player to display, even if other windows are active. This is the default settings.
Prompt for confirmation before completing jobs - Checking this box will cause a confirmation screen to display after completing a job in the Voice Player.
Change Foot Pedal (button) - Click this to display the list of available foot pedals supported by the Voice Player.
Select the type of foot pedal that matches the foot pedal installed on you system. If you are unsure of what to select, please consult with your supervisor. A list of supported foot pedals can be found in Appendix A.
Click on OK to save the foot pedal selection.
When finished with the Player screen, click on the Export tab.
Export job information to transcription package at start of job - Check this box to enable the dictation interface to a transcription package. The dictation interface allows certain information on a job to be automatically entered into the demographic screen in the transcription package.
Export format - Select the format to use when creating the interface file.
Export filename - Enter the path and file name of the interface file, or click on the Default button to automatically enter a value.
Special handling code - Enter a code that may be required to do special formatting of the dictation interface fields before creating the interface file. Consult with Hudson Medical Systems for specific codes allowed.
